Here is how it works and how STUPID our Government bureaucrats and lawmakers are. The IRS requires everyone that earns money in the United States, whether they are here legal or illegally, to file a tax return. Since illegal workers have no social security number, the IRS has established something called an INDIVIDUAL TAXPAYER IDENTIFICATION NUMBER (ITIN), that illegal immigrants are getting to file these tax returns. (OK...let's see if this is clear; I cannot get a social security number from the social security department, but I CAN get a ITIN from the IRS and file a tax return?)
Here is where the situation gets really "stinky". The IRS has a "loophole" where I, as an illegal immigrant, if I file a Federal Tax Return, can claim I am supporting virtually an unlimited number of children through something called the "Additional Child Tax Credit", and that child does not even have to be mine. I can list my nephews and or nieces, or a minor sibling, any minor child. These illegal workers are frequently listing ten to twenty children, many or all of them LIVING BACK IN MEXICO as their dependents, and the IRS, the big "NANNY" to illegal immigrants and those who pay no taxes or do not work at all, just shovels the hard-earned tax dollars to them by the BILLIONS!
What is so disturbing to me out of this whole deal is that the IRS is just shoveling our dollars out the door to people working here illegally, and doing absolutely nothing about it, and yet they will crucify a legitimate taxpayer with huge penalties and interest charges if they are a day late, or make a mistake on their returns when filed. The hypocrisy is HUGE! Plain and simple, it is the mentality of those trying to buy the votes of the latino community that are here legally by pandering and handing out cash to those of the same ethnic group that are here illegally!
Our Federal Government's lawmakers and the liberal press with their "political correctness" mindset are afraid to do anything to alienate any minority fringe vote for fear of losing that fringe group's votes. Plain and simple; do not do anything to alienate the homosexuals, illegal immigrants, African Americans, Latinos, Unions, environmentalists...just about any other fringe group you can think of, or I might lose their vote. Well, their spineless fear of offending somebody is costing the U.S. Taxpayer billions of dollars, and sending much of it south of the Border, down Mexico way.
