WHY COMMUNISM OR SOCIALISM CAN NEVER WORK!!

Socialism/communism are utopian forms of existence/government. In their conceptual philosophy, they are very attractive. They propose an existence where everything is owned and controlled and distributed by the “State”. An oversimplification of its overriding theme is “share and share alike”. And while that is an exceptional and admirable existence dream, here on earth, that dream has no possibility of ever existing successfully. Why not, some may ask? Because it simply defies human nature, ignoring the drastic world views held by different nations around the world.
For socialism/communism to work, there are four assumptions that must be assumed true:
  1. Mankind is basically good by nature
  2. Every person would be satisfied with whatever they are given, and would not aspire to “...more.”
  3. The “State” will always do what is “right” for the people.
  4. The “State” will be allowed to exist without interference from other countries/states as long as it does not interfere with those other countries' internal or external operations.
Let us look at each of these assumptions in more depth. First, we must examine mankind's basic human nature; e.g., is it basically good, or bad by nature? We can get very deep into the debate on this subject, but at its very basic nature, to determine whether or not our nature is good or evil, we can simply look at very young children. By their nature, virtually all children come into this world selfish. Left alone, children do not like to share, will, by nature, set up a hierarchy among their social and even family structures that determines who the dominant member of the group is, and will resists changes that go against those character traits or hierarchy.
For those that are of the Judeo-Christian faith, there is also biblical scripture that indicates this assertion. Romans 3:23 (NKJV) says “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” John 9:34 says “They answered him, 'You were born entirely in sins, and are you teaching us?' So they put him out.“
Countless experiments have been done proving that we come into this world with a sinful nature, and only by correction and the enforcement by others of God's an/or man's laws do be become able to co-exist with other humans in a civilized way. Even those who proclaim themselves as Christians acknowledge that every day we sin, and only through redemption received through confession and repentance of our sins can we re-establish our covenant and personal relationship with the Father.
The second assumption, e.g., every person would be satisfied with whatever they are given and would not aspire for “more”, has been proven to be totally unsustainable and unworkable through the human experiment for centuries. For recent examples, look at the Soviet Union, Cuba, Romania, Czechoslovakia, Germany, even today places like Greece, Italy, France, North Korea, Iraq, Libya, Syria, places where the “State” has supposedly tried to take care of its peoples and control them, but they have exploded in revolt or have regressed in the condition of their people overall because of the human nature's resistance to domination, to having their freedoms restricted, and to having been taken over by cruel, oppressive dictators or regimes. It just does not work.
The failure comes because in most free societies, the State itself has no means to generate revenues other than through taxation, fees, tariffs, and /or conquests. Since the world went to basically a system of paper money, a medium of exchange with no real value except that which is established and guaranteed by the governments themselves, government's ability to buy goods and services from other countries depends upon the world's valuation of its currency. Whether the country directly owns the products and goods sold to internal and external markets, or whether it taxes the individuals living in the country to raise the capital needed to operate, in general, the world operates based on paper, and even non-existent paper or coins through electronic transactions for the exchange of goods and services between countries. This which means that no longer is a government's ability to operate entirely dependent upon goods and services provided from internal means; all governments must now operate in a global economy where opinion, and the reliability and productivity of its citizens helps to determine the valuation of its currency, and therefore its ability to buy goods and services from other countries..
The evolution of electronic communications systems (telephone, computers, wireless communications, access to the World Wide Web and the Internet have made it virtually impossible for repressive regimes to restrict their citizen's awareness of the economic conditions in other nations. This awareness of economic and social conditions around the world has vastly increased mankind's unrest with their own state of affairs, especially in the underprivileged nations of the world. Demand is increasing world-wide for “more”; more goods, more freedoms, more money, more of everything that those in underprivileged areas see those in more privileged areas enjoying.
Mankind, by nature, wants freedom. They resist either overtly or covertly any force that tries to take that freedom away or restrict it by oppression. We see that resistance to having our freedoms restricted throughout every species of living creature on the earth. Try to cage any animal and see the resistance that is put up. Take any animal that has been living in a cage even since birth, and take it out of that cage, eventually, it will leave to never return unless stopped. Even plants want to grow and expand. Restrict a plant's space in which to grow, and eventually it will wither and die. Allow a plant unlimited access to growth and it will continue to grow until its limbs can no longer support that growth. That is a law of nature. Nothing, nor no one want to be constrained. Freedom and growth are instinctual goals for every living thing.
The disproving of assumption number one is also the proof that Assumption number three will always be proven false. The “State” is nothing more than a structure of constraints and guidelines by which those under its coverage receive their boundaries of behavior. Depending upon its structure, those guidelines and constraints are determined by individuals comprising the “State”, either through elected and/or appointed officials or by a supreme ruler who then imposes his/her will on the people through force, with, of course, innumerable variations that include some of both.
History is again our best teacher here of the fallacy of believing the State will always do the “right” thing for its people. Since recorded history began, mankind has seen innumerable examples of governments being established by dictators and monarchs which have, over time, been overthrown or conquered by force, both internal force and external force. Likewise there have been numerous cases where democracies and republics have been established, and, over time, decayed through weakness or internal corruption to the point that they have been removed/replaced through internal or external force. Thomas Jefferson, America's third President, stated his beliefs about government's ability to do the “right” thing all the time for its citizens, when he said these famous quotes:
  1. “The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government. “
  2. When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.
  3. What country can preserve its liberties if its rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance?
  4. Most bad government has grown out of too much government.
  5. A little rebellion now and then is a good thing and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical.
  6. “Government big enough to supply everything you need is big enough to take everything you have. The course of history shows us that as a government grows, liberty decreases.”
Jefferson knew from his experiences dealing with foreign governments that the older established governments of Europe were all basically corrupt and self-serving, caring little for the people they governed. History shows us time and time again that as individuals get a taste of power and privilege at the expense of those they govern, with very few exceptions, their lust for more of that turns even the most honest and caring individuals into self-serving, greedy individuals with little concern for their constituants. Even in our nation's young life, we can see the fallacy of this type of argument that the States will always do what is best for those it governs. We have seen and had recorded in minute detail the rise and fall of virtually every type of governmental structure known to man. Germany and Japan rose through military power as the AXIS powers with the intent of destroying and/or dominating every other form of government on the earth. Why, because internally they did not have all the materials/resources they needed to exist at the level they wished and to install their idea of the “State” as they envisioned it, so they had to take from others in order to create and sustain their vision of a utopia on earth. The same with Communism/Socialism throughout the world, especially evident in the Soviet Union and its efforts to establish a world-wide Communist Utopia. It, too, failed because of its evolution into one of the world's most oppressive and cruel empires.
Even here in the United States, we are seeing the degradation of our freedoms through the growth of government controls and regulations. Whether well-intentioned, or diabolical in nature, America's elected officials have continually regulated and legislated away the rights of the majority of its citizens in an effort to create a totally equal society, where no-one will have any kind of privilege or advantage over another. That society can never exist, because there will always be individuals that want “more”, and when they cannot get “more” by conventional means, will either try to force government to give it to them, or will try to take it away from those with more by whatever means they can. Well intentioned or devious individuals in positions of government with the ability to socially engineer change have, over the last sixty years, tried numerous attempts to govern people out of poverty with a dismal record of failure. Again, a failed approach that has been tired over and over and, in the past, has failed every time. Laws have been passed which supposedly prevent any type of discrimination by one person or one company against another, but the realities are that for every law that is passed, unscrupulous people will find a way to circumvent or hide their violations of that law. The only way mankind has ever raised its economic, social, and political status has been to work for it, and to have government basically get out of mankind's way.
Regulations implemented to supposedly prevent as much opportunity for man to injure his fellow man have made it virtually impossible for someone to start a new business today because of the costs of complying with these needless regulations. Government officials have continued to expand their ideas of the government's responsibilities to take care of its citizens, which has in turn, driven up the costs of government to a point where the government cannot sustain its give-away programs without excessive taxation or borrowing, and because people who realize they can vote themselves something for nothing, will elect individuals who promise them that something for nothing. Whether they realize there really is nothing “free”, that somebody will pay for it somehow, does not seem to matter. It is a fallback to that “looking out for #1” mentality that exposes the underbelly of man's selfish, evil nature.
The Fourth Assumption has never been proven true in all of recorded history. Stronger nations inevitably have reached out and taken resources from weaker nations throughout recorded history. It is said that when Alexander the Great finally conquered all of the known world at his time, he sat down and wept because there was nothing or no one else left to conquer. America, in its short history, has proven to be the only nation in history to disavow the goals of conquering other nations by force to expand its availability of resources needed to sustain its economic and social growth. No other nation has ever conquered so many nations in battle where it was attacked from outside forces, then after vanquishing those nations in battle, turned around and expended its own resources to re-establish those vanquished nations as independent, free economic, social, and politically free entities. But that government has grown more and more oppressive and has degraded so drastically from a moral and spiritual perspective in the last sixty years, that it, too, has begun to resemble those evil empires that we so recently have fought to overthrow.
In summary, until not only America, but the entire world realizes that history assures the continual appearance of evil and/or corrupt individuals and governments because of the sinful, evil nature of mankind, the social, economic, and political dreams of some type of utopian socialist or communist type of government will continue to rise and, eventually, be destroyed. Not until mankind can rid itself of its sinful, evil nature completely, could socialism or communism work, and since history has proven that likelihood virtually unthinkable, the probability of a utopia existing on this earth is absolutely zero until the second coming of Christ and the casting of all evil spirits into hell for eternity occurs.
Until then, the struggle against oppressive governments will continue, and until people realize that no government should ever be trusted to provide for the needs and freedoms of its people, the dreams of that utopia will continue to be contemplated upon, and tried, and proven unworkable time and time again.
“The definition of insanity is the belief that by doing the same thing over and over again, one can expect a different outcome to occur”.

The ObamaCare Curse Strikes Again!!!

Well, the ObamaCare bureaucrats/terrorists have struck again! To catch everyone up, starting back in March, we started fighting with them when some internal policy change at EXPRESS SCRIPTS, the TRICARE pharmacy contractor, caused them to reverse a decision from less than a year before that which provided my wife a name brand medication when she had a severe reaction to a generic they forced us to try (read about it in these older blog posts if interested:
We were forced to file a “final” appeal to an outside agency (KePRO) when they turned down the second appeal we filed to EXPRESS SCRIPTS. This time, my wife's physician wrote almost a full page detailing the difficulties that my wife had when she tried the generic, and explained that she was obviously the exception to their claims that the generics were medically equivalent to the name brand.
Well, we were just informed that this appeal was denied as well, and this is the last appeal we can file. The next step is a lawsuit, but I cannot find a lawyer that will file for me because they will not take a case on contingency against the Feds. So...the retired military veteran gets screwed again by the big Federal Government. Those SOBs sit up there, most of them would not know one end of a rifle from the other and have never been in harm's way, they enjoy their gold-plated medical plans and exclude themselves from these crappy plans they force on those that have laid their lives on the line to protect their rights to screw us and pad their own pockets. This is just WRONG!!!
What is even more infuriating, both times my wife's appeals were turned town, I asked to speak to the physician or person who made the final decision, but I was told that was not possible; that they do not allow that. So, what we have in place now at the Federal Healthcare system level are nameless, faceless bureaucrats making decisions about citizen's healthcare that, when questioned or challenged, hide themselves behind their corporate structures and provide the recipients a form letter spouting the corporate lines of garbage, while they ignore the facts.
My fellow citizens, we hear about the nightmares coming with ObamaCare; well they are already here. And they are being shoved down the throats of America's veterans and their families, where they literally do not care about negative consequences which have already surfaced when their decisions were tried, they just say try a different manufacturer of another generic so that we can save $40 bucks a month on a prescription, but possible inflict more suffering and medical problems on the guinea pig patient. Plain and simple: Bureaucrats are already making decisions to the detriment of citizen's medical well being, and their decisions are absolutely opposite to medical evidence from the patient's own local physician(s). It has taken nearly four months to fight the battle thus far.
I have a closing question for you. Had you seen your wife suffering because of a medication, how would you feel being told that her suffering was not back enough or serious enough to justify giving her a medication that she had been taking for years with no side effects, and instead being told that she had to try another, different generic drug and risk more suffering and negative side effects because it costs less than the name brand? If you think this is an acceptable way to have yourself or your loved ones treated, then you need to do nothing. But if you, like me, think this is absolutely unacceptable treatment, then I hope you will call your congressman and senators and tell them of your outrage! That is exactly what I intend to do.

ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS DEFRAUDING THE US TAXPAYER OF BILLIONS!

I wonder how many Americans don't realize that the Federal Government is literally giving away BILLIONS of U.S. Taxpayer dollars to illegal immigrants in one of the largest cases of tax fraud ever perpetrated on Taxpayers and it is done THROUGH THE IRS!!!
Here is how it works and how STUPID our Government bureaucrats and lawmakers are.  The IRS requires everyone that earns money in the United States, whether they are here legal or illegally, to file a tax return.  Since illegal workers have no social security number, the IRS has established something called an INDIVIDUAL TAXPAYER IDENTIFICATION NUMBER (ITIN), that illegal immigrants are getting to file these tax returns.  (OK...let's see if this is clear; I cannot get a social security number from the social security department, but I CAN get a ITIN from the IRS and file a tax return?)
Here is where the situation gets really "stinky".  The IRS has a "loophole" where I, as an illegal immigrant, if I file a Federal Tax Return, can claim I am supporting virtually an unlimited number of children through something called the "Additional Child Tax Credit", and that child does not even have to be mine.  I can list my nephews and or nieces, or a minor sibling, any minor child.  These illegal workers are frequently listing ten to twenty children, many or all of them LIVING BACK IN MEXICO as their dependents, and the IRS, the big "NANNY" to illegal immigrants and those who pay no taxes or do not work at all, just shovels the hard-earned tax dollars to them by the BILLIONS!
What is so disturbing to me out of this whole deal is that the IRS is just shoveling our dollars out the door to people working here illegally, and doing absolutely nothing about it, and yet they will crucify a legitimate taxpayer with huge penalties and interest charges if they are a day late, or make a mistake on their returns when filed.  The hypocrisy is HUGE!  Plain and simple, it is the mentality of those trying to buy the votes of the latino community that are here legally by pandering and handing out cash to those of the same ethnic group that are here illegally!
Our Federal Government's lawmakers and the liberal press with their "political correctness" mindset are afraid to do anything to alienate any minority fringe vote for fear of losing that fringe group's votes.  Plain and simple; do not do anything to alienate the homosexuals, illegal immigrants, African Americans, Latinos, Unions, environmentalists...just about any other fringe group you can think of, or I might lose their vote.  Well, their spineless fear of offending somebody is costing the U.S. Taxpayer billions of dollars, and sending much of it south of the Border, down Mexico way.  Check out this video that NEWSMAX magazine highlighted on their online magazine a couple of weeks ago, where this was exposed.

Why Can't We ALL Get Beyond Voting or Not Voting for Someone Based on Race?

There is a lot of news recently surrounding the “coming out” of President Obama when he stated that he was changing his prior position of being against Gay Marriage, and now supports Gay Marriage.
Much of the debate in the news, however, has swung away from the homosexuality debate and seems to now be focusing in on whether the flip-flop of the President is going to hurt him in the election.  Initially, the feeling was that it would, because there are many, many devoutly Christian African Americans that do not believe in Gay Marriage, and the thought/talk among many of the political commentators/analysts was that his announcement might cause them to change from their support of the President and vote Republican.
In just over a week since the President announced his new position, however, the political commentators are saying that it really is not going to hurt him very much.  Two African American preachers interviewed earlier this week on the FOX News Channel both said they were still going to vote for President Obama, but one of those preachers, just a few nights before this interview, had said he was going to not vote at all because of the President’s position.  When Bill O’Reilly asked him why the change, he said that he had received many calls from the members of his congregation about that, and now he was going to vote for the President after all.  Mr. O’Reilly pressed him on why the change of heart; why, when he was anti-abortion and anti-gay marriage, would he not vote for Mitt Romney, he said that he would never vote for Mitt Romney because Mr. Obama had better policies on the economy, on foreign policy, etc.   The man was so embarrassed that he could not even look into the camera.  The fact that he was saying what his congregation told him to say was so evident from his body language and his gestures and the inflections in his voice, I actually felt sorry for him.
The African American Community voted virtually unanimously in the last election for President Obama; ninety-seven percent of the black community voted for Mr. Obama.  It was a given then that they would, and frankly, it is probably a given in 2012 that the same result will occur, and that greatly disappoints me.
I am a southern, white, sixty-five year old male.  I listen to FOX on occasion, I’ll listen to CNN, NBC’s Today Show, and sometimes, just for grins, I’ll listen to MSNBC to see what the far left liberals are putting out.  The liberals are taking every opportunity to say that anyone that is against President Obama is a racist; that we only want him removed from office because he has African American blood in his veins, and frankly, I find that highly insulting.  To me, that is what liberals have to fall back on when they cannot win an argument against those who are going to vote against the President for any other reason.
For generations, blacks were assumed to be too dumb to be a part of white society.  Fortunately, over the last century, and especially in the last sixty years or so, America has wised up and realized that every human being has worth and should be measured by, to quote Dr. King, the “…content of their character and not the color of their skin.”  Too bad that so many of the black community have forgotten that part of Dr. King’s philosophy.  They are practicing the same thing that white Americans did for generations.  If the truth be told, they are going to vote for Barack Obama again because he is black, and because to do otherwise would incur the wrath of many of their fellow African Americans.
Am I saying that there are not those in the black community that did not and will vote for Mr. Obama for other than the fact that he is black?  No, I am not.  What I am saying is that when the percentages his ninety-seven percent, only an idiot would say that there is not a large number of blacks that are voting for President Obama strictly on race.
It can also be said that there are many in the white community that are voting for President Obama strictly because he is black, and they wish to prove that white Americans are NOT racist.
I wonder how the white community now would be described if they exhibited the same mentality as the black community is exhibiting, e.g., a blind determination to vote for the white candidate just because he is white?  Just like many in the African American community, there would be those that found some other reason to give that they were voting for him, but unlike the FOX News analysts, they would be called liars by the liberal press before the words got out of their mouths good.  How many news agencies would be on the air screaming racism, prejudice, bigotry every time that a poll came out and the results showed the white citizens of America block voting for a white candidate at the ninety-seven percent level?  That would dominate the headlines and commentators shows for months on end, expecially the ABC, NBC, CBS,  and CNN networks!  Jessee Jackson and Al Sharpton would be most prominent faces on television, except maybe with the exception of Joe Biden going nuts every time somebody asked him about it!  I just cannot stomach the hypocrisy that is being show in the media and the black community today with regard to their practicing racial voting on one hand, but condemning anyone who says they will NOT vote for Obama because he is black!
Maybe I'm old fashioned, but to me, wrong is wrong and right is right.  Morality, sin, good, evil....all those character traits are colorblind.  Just as it is wrong for white people to vote for a candidate just because that candidate is white, it is just as wrong for a black person, or a latino, asian, oriental, Arab, Jew, native American...really anybody to vote for a candidate just because of that person's ethnicity.
I will come right out and tell anyone that I would not vote for Barack Obama, but it has nothing to do with his race.  He has demonstrated to me a fanatical determination to push the far left liberal agenda down the throats of every American whether the majority want it or not.  I will not vote for him because he seems oblivious to the disastrous nature of driving up the national debt to the levels of bankrupting the country.  I will not vote for Barack Obama because he has insulted our traditional allies, snubs the traditional National Day of Prayer cereminies,  but participated in a national Islamic day of prayer, yet tells the world that America is no longer a Christian nation.  I will not vote for Barack Obama because he has broken every promise he made when he was a candidate.  I will not vote for Barack Obama because his energy policy is killing American jobs and America's future.  I will not vote for Barack Obama because he insists on shoving Obamacare down the throats of Americans even though well over fifty percent of the people want it either totally vetoed, or most of it vetoed.
Now, would I have voted for any African American candidate?  Absolutely.   I would vote for Herman Cain (I actually contributed to his campaign before he suspended it), I would vote for Allen West, I would have voted for Colin Powell, I would have voted for Condoleezza Rice.  But it has nothing to do with their ethnicity; it has everything to do with their experience, their political and economic philosophy, and their values regarding America's place in the world.
My problem with Liberals is that they are hypocrites, and it is very obvious that they do not like America as it functions now, and rather than take a pragmatic view of how to change it, they want to destroy it first, then remake it in their image.  Most of them are too young to remember America as I knew it growing up.    They cannot remember the America where the Federal Government lived within its restrictions of the Constitution, and left people alone to start and run their businesses.  They cannot remember the American where the trial lawyer lobby did not look for every opportunity to pass laws that created and grew the legal industry's pocketbooks to astronomical proportions.  They do not remember the days when the U.S. Supreme Court relied on Original Intent as they made decisions, rather than caving in and trying to socially engineer America to the prevailing philosophy of the day, whatever that might be.  They do not remember the time when America did not promote and create the "victim mentality" in order to restrict the rights of its citizens more and more.  No, they do not remember the great America of the '40s and '50s.  But I do.
Most of them do not have access or have not been exposed to the disastrous efforts of those societies in the past that tried to institute a utopian view of society.  Communism and socialism have been tried untold times, and in every instance, they have failed.  While beautiful in concept, there is no way to create that utopian society on this earth because of the basic sinful nature of man as a creature.  If we were all Christ-like individuals, then we would all be able to live in harmony with one another, we would all be in contact with the word and guidance that God has given us, and we would be able to share and share alike.
Unfortunately, the whole world is NOT Christ-like.  SATAN has deceived most of the world, and it is basically an evil place.  Mankind, by its very nature is greedy, self-centered, and materialistic.  And as long as there are evil people in the world, many of them running nations of the world, then America is going to have to have a government and an economy that will put us in a dominant position in this world, or we will be destroyed by those that will manipulate us out of existence as the world power  we are now.
We've already sent most of our manufacturing capabilities out of the nation.  We buy most of our material goods, clothing, electronics, cars, petroleum produce, and heavy building materials from other nations, when we have abundant capabilities and materials in this nation to do it.  We have operated our economy and our import and export business as a nation from a deficit position (buying more goods from overseas than we sell overseas) for decades.  In trying to "level" the economic status of everyone towards the middle class, we have given away so much money through entitlement programs (I HATE that term!), that we now have to borrow nearly fifty cents of every dollar our government spends.
We cannot sustain this way of operating as a nation and as a government without disastrous effects.  We are seeing that now in Europe with Greece, Italy, and other nations where they have taxed people to the point that they cannot tax them anymore, and they have exhausted their borrowing power, so they are defaulting on their debts, facing riots in the streets because they are having to take away all the freebies that they have given away in order to get elected.
America is looking straight at the disasters overseas, but the liberals in our government (and many of the conservatives also) do not have the political stomach to make the difficult decisions needed here to avoid that in our future.  Unless they do, because we are such a huge, diverse nation, we are facing far worse uprisings and economic disasters than Europe ever dreamed of.
Want to know why I would not vote for Barack Obama?  Want to why I would not vote for any liberal candidate right now?  Because I hear virtually all of them spouting rhetoric that reminds me of the socialist mantra that was spouted all over the USSR from about 1917 until it collapsed in 1989.
Is America's economy broke?  Yes, it is.  Can the government fix it?  Yes, it can, but not following the policies of Barack Obama and the liberals in government.  We need to turn the wagon around and go back towards a free, less regulated economy, and to cut government spending drastically so that we spend no more than we take in revenue to cover.
Government is there to protect our nation's people, possessions and territory, to facilitate interstate and international commerce, and to give people the opportunity to pursue their dreams and happiness.  It is NOT supposed to be their source of income if they cannot find a job in the private sector.  The Nanny State that we have become is certain NOT what the founding fathers intended, in fact it is exactly the opposite of what they intended.  It has evolved far too much in the opposite direction, and more resembles the super-powerful centralized Government that the Constitution was written to prevent!
So, America, it is time for all of us regardless of our ethnicity to take off the race-colored glasses and look realistically at the realities of this world.  We should NOT vote for Barack Obama, or Joe Biden, or Nancy Pelosi, or Harry Reid, or any other socialist/communist leaning liberal.  It is un-American to do so.  It goes against everything that the founding fathers intended.  Color should, and in most of the people who think like I do, does not, have any influence on whether I vote for somebody or not.  Ironic is it not that the same prejudice that the blacks hated and fought so hard to rid the nation of are now more prominent in their society than they are in white society today.  Too sad...

As you ponder what I write, more closely ponder those writings of probably the greatest American next to George Washington, our third President, Thomas Jefferson, of whom President John F. Kennedy said:  "I think this is the most extraordinary collection of talent, of human knowledge, that has ever been gathered at the White House - with the possible exception of when Thomas Jefferson dined alone."

" A wise and frugal Government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government, and this is necessary to close the circlue  (circle) of our felicities.

"An association of men who will not quarrel with one another is a thing which has never yet existed, from the greatest confederacy of nations down to a town meeting or a vestry."

"Dependence begets subservience and venality, suffocates the germ of virtue, and prepares fit tools for the designs of ambition.
"I own that I am not a friend to a very energetic government. It is always oppressive."

"I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them."

"Every government degenerates when trusted to the rulers of the people alone. The people themselves are its only safe depositories."

"Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny."

UPDATE on PREVIEW OF OBAMACARE:-UNIMAGINABLY BAD!!!!

Just when I thought I had experienced the worst possible scenario imaginable in dealing with EXPRESS SCRIPTS/TRICARE, now I find that I had only seen the tip of the government bureaucracy's dictatorial attitude in action.  It gets worse!
In the last installment, if you remember, my wife's nurse spent twenty-two minutes on the phone with EXPRESS SCRIPTS's pre-admissions interviewer describing the problems my wife had with the generic form of  the prescription medicine that she had been taking for years, and we had been turned down.
The next day, (last Friday was a week ago), after hearing that we had to go through a clinical appeal process next, my wife wrote the letter to her doctor asking her to negotiate with EXPRESS SCRIPTS and make the appeal for the name-brand medication.  My wife's doctor then had to write a letter to EXPRESS SCRIPTS giving them the medical justification...AGAIN...for my wife not taking the generic medication (e.g., severe stomach cramps and other complications) and telling EXPRESS SCRIPTS that my wife needed the name-brand medication.  All of that was then faxed to the clinical appeal department at EXPRESS SCRIPTS.
All of that was completed and faxed to EXPRESS SCRIPTS before close-of-business on Friday.  Monday morning,  I called and tried to verify that EXPRESS SCRIPTS had, in fact, received the faxes, but by mid-afternoon, there was nothing in the system to tell me that it had been received.  Tuesday, same result, so by mid-afternoon, I decided I had had enough of this.  I had, by then, been trying to fill my wife's prescription for nearly three weeks, and had been denied twice.  As one can imagine, we are approaching my wife running out of the medications, and I am really now getting frustrated by this situation.  In my mind, I am hoping against hope that we finally have gotten beyond the local people and are now at corporate HQ in St. Louis, MO., were someone certainly would see the lunacy I have been having to deal with.
I called the President of EXPRESS SCRIPTS in his St. Louis Headquarters around three PM on Tuesday, got a recording, and left a message that I expected a call back within twenty four hours.  Surprisingly, I got a call around five PM from someone in his office, who was very understanding when I expressed my concerns.  She said she would look into it and call me back before close of business on Wednesday.  She did call me back that next afternoon and told me that the documentation was received and someone would be looking at it as soon as they could, which could be anywhere from one day to a couple of weeks!  I explained to her that a delay of that long was not acceptable, that I had been fighting this for nearly two weeks at that time, so she said she would see what she could do.
Sure enough, the next afternoon, I got a call from that clinical appeals department telling me that the appeal had been turned down!  I went ballistic on that gentleman, explaining to him all that we had been through, and asking him how they could come to such a ridiculous decision, to which he gave me a sluff-off, saying that I would receive a letter soon (now nearly a week later and I have not received that letter!) explaining the decision, and explaining that there was one more appeal that I needed to go through.  I told him that I would be seeing my lawyer and we would see about another appeal.
I called back and got the young lady in the President's office who was quick to tell me that she did not agree with the decision, but that it was out of her hands.  She explained that I had to file another appeal with an outside agency looking at the facts, and that hopefully that person or group would make the right decision, but that I could not do that until I received the letter, and she could not tell me how long that would take.  When I asked her what justification they gave for turning our appeal down, they said that they wanted my wife to try a different generic!  OK...so let us make my wife a guinea pig and see if maybe she will not have as bad a reaction to a different generic so we can save a few bucks!  Not in this lifetime!  These people are unbelievable.  They really could care less whether or not my wife suffers any bad affects while they experiment with different generics to save a few bucks.  This is what the rest of America has to look forward to as Obamacare become the nation's health care standard that the rest of the industry must comply with.
So...here we are, four weeks and two appeal turn-downs later, waiting on a letter from EXPRESS SCRIPTS telling us about the final appeal process we must go through.  All of this over a prescription that sells retail for around $49 without insurance, versus a generic priced form that sells for around $25.00.  I hate to think what I will have to go through if I ever have to have a name brand expensive drug!
I spoke to a lawyer; I will probably have to file suit against EXPRESS SCRIPTS/TRICARE because of this problem; at this point, I really do not believe that they are going to reverse their decisions; I have probably aggravated too many people, but right now, I do not care.  I will not have my wife treated like a guinea pig.  I will not take the risk for my wife have to suffer in some clinical trial when I already know that there is a product out there that does not give her any side affects.  It is my and my wife's decision, NOT some bureaucrat sitting behind a computer that would not know us if we walked up and hit them square on the chin (which right now would make me feel MUCH better!  So, here I am, a retired Army officer, on a fixed income, having to decide whether to take what little disposable personal income I have and pay a lawyer to represent me, or knuckle under to the system and let them treat me and my wife like some sub-human species and take whatever crumbs they want to throw me.  NOT!!!
Get ready, America.  we have an expression in the military; it is called BOHICA (Bend Over, Here It Comes Again).  Uncle Sam is going to take away every decision that a patient and their doctor make together and force it to be passed in front of an individual or group of bureaucrats that are more concerned with enforcing cost reduction policies that other bureaucrats have decided is best for the country.  Decisions are already being made on not what works for the patient, but what costs the government less!
·                     Imagine what we can expect when it comes to whether we need an expensive operation or life-saving treatment?  Before we can get the treatment, the "board" will have to review the symptoms, the medical files of the doctors providing direct treatment to determine if that doctor has considered all the less-expensive options in treatment before the local doctor can proceed.
·                     How many doctors will put up with this type of BS?  Expect a flood of doctors to tell Uncle Same to go stick his healthcare program where the sun does not shine and go back to the way things were before insurance...cash up front or an agreed upon payment plan financed by the patient and not the insurance companies.  The costs will be lower, patients will flood to these doctors, but they will not be able to keep up with demand.
·                     People who cannot afford to pay cash or finance their own treatments will be forced to compete with the now shrunken supply of doctors, and the available of fast, quality treatment will diminish.  There will be longer delays, and people will end up dying before they can get to the doctor for treatment.
Watch out, America.  Big Brother's healthcare plan is here, and it is a disaster already.  Imagine what is coming, if I have to go through this kind of bureaucratic hell for a $49 prescription!  GOD HELP US!!!

What America's Code of Conduct should be: God, Duty, Honor, Country

Last night several guys from my church, along with our pastor, went to see "Act of Valor", a movie starring real U.S. Navy Seals, based roughly on some real-world missions that Seals have completed.  It was a gripping movie; not for the faint of heart or weak of stomach, and not for people who feel no pride in being an American, or who do not get a lump in their throats every time they hear of the sacrifices that American soldiers make for their nation.  I was extremely moved as I saw these wonderful, heroic soldiers in action.  And, perhaps better than a lot of the viewers, I was immediately right there with them, feeling what they expressed and demonstrated from the depths of my very being.  It was an experience that I find hard to describe, but which I feel compelled to try and explain, and compelled to tell the depth and extent of what I felt as a former soldier for these wonderful examples of real American heroes.
I am a retired military officer.  That I use the term military officer rather than a retired U.S. Army Officer might be confusing to some who do not now me that well, but I use that term because, although I actually spent the majority of my miltary career in the U.S. Army reserve components (Louisiana Army National Guard and the U.S. Army Reserves), I also spent time in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves, and the United States Air Force.
Now that I have thoroughly confused the reader, let me explain briefly.  My uncle Bubba Ferrington was a career Marine Corps Flying Officer, retiring as a Major.  He was my role model, and when, at the age of about ten, he gave me one of his old flight helments, I was hooked.  I always wanted to fly figher aircraft, so as soon as I got into college, I got into the U.S. Marine Corps Officer's course known as Platoon Leader Corps-Aviation.  Between my junior and senior years of college, I went to Officer's Candidate School at Quantico, Virginia, just outside of Washington, DC.
My fourth day there, they gave me a physical exam and discovered I had a hernia and processed me out, telling me that if I had surgery to repair the hernia I could come back after graduation and try again.
I had the surgery, and when I got ready to re-enroll in the program, a couple of things came to light which changed my mind:
l  I discovered that if I washed out of flight school after completing Marine Corps OCS, then I would not simply be discharged, but would instead become a Marine Corps Infantry platoon leader.  Frankly, in 1969, that was the very last thing on earth I wanted to be.  I was going to fly fighters like my uncle Bubba, one way or another, but just in case I had some flaw in my character that would NOT let me do that, I certainly did not want to end up in Vietnam as a platoon leader in the Marines, where my life expectancy was somewhere around two weeks!
l  When I went to career day at my college, Northeast Louisiana State College in Monroe, LA., the recruiter mentioned that the Marines were very short of helicopter pilots, and if I made it through OCS, there was a very good likelihood that I would end up as a helicopter pilot instead of a fighter pilot.  Again, this was not an option that I relished; my idea of flying did not involved flying ninety miles an hour through hails of gunfire picking up and dropping off troops.  About the only advantage of being a helicopter pilot over being an infantry platoon leader was that at least I got to take a bath on a rather frequent and regular basis; otherwise the risks were about the same.
After learning these revelations about my future options in the Marine Corps, I walked a few paces around the corner in the gym to the U.S. Air Force table, where I quickly signed up for their Officer Candidate School.  In July of 1969, after graduation, I went to Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonia, Texas where, after twelve interesting weeks, I graduated with a commission in the United States Air Force, and off I went to Navigator Training at Mather Air Force Base in Sacramento, California.
I spent the next five years in the United States Air Force where I lived my dream...almost.  I did end up in the back seat of the world's best fighter at that time, the McDonald Douglas F4 Phantom II fighter bomber.  I would have stayed in the USAF had my then-wife not hated it and after giving me the choice of staying in the Air Force at the expense of my marriage or getting out, I chose to leave active duty in the USAF, which to this point in my life I will say was the second-worst decision I ever made.
After being away from the service for ten years, however, I decided that I really did not "fit-in" that well in the corporate world, but needed to be back in the military which I had always know was my calling.  I began investigating my options, and after learning that the F4 was being phased out of the Air Force's inventory shortly, and finding that there were no slots in the reserve Air Force components close to where I was living, I was convinced by a friend that I knew to join the Louisana Army National Guard, where I eventually became a transportation officer, a Transportation Company Commander, and retired after fourteen years in the Army as a Major in 1998.
So...as you see, I was a Marine, a U.S. Air Force officeer, and finally, an Army officer.  I love soldiers.  Each branch I was in had its unique characteristics, and I was proud of the role I played while in each, although the Marine Corps tenure was very brief and superficial to say the least, but giving me a very healthy respect for the training that those soldiers go through, and the quality of soldiers that they become.
I love soldiers.  I have said this over and over, for years, verbally, and in writing as frequently as someone will listen to me explain why I love soldiers.  In my life experiences, with very, very few exceptions, soldiers represent the very best of America's citizens.  I find that soldiers are, again with very few exceptions, loyal, honorable, brave, and very capable of fulfilling their duties to our nation at a very high level of proficiency.
When I was a teen-ager, every young man of eighteen was required to register for the military draft, and if physically able, to spend two years in the service of his country.  Until the latter years of the Vietnam conflict, the military was considered an honorable and valuable experience for young men, teaching them discipline, teamwork, morality, and good job skills.  All my time in the military, I found those character traits to be present in the vast majority of the soldiers I served with.
We were all taught that we were to live by a code of conduct; a guideline of how we, as soldiers in the United States military, were expected to behave in our day-to-day existence while in the military; how we were to treat our fellow soldiers, our superior officers, those who were our subordinates, and how we were to conduct ourselves as representatives of our nation when in the civilian world, or when in combat.
Though I have been retired from active service in the military since 1998, I still view myself as a soldier.  That has really become who I am, and I guess, always will be.  There is an old expression in the U.S. Marine Corps, "...once a Marine, always a Marine!"  I just say that once I became a soldier, that became my identity; I will always be a soldier, and I state that very proudly, for as I look back at my life over the last sixty-five years, I really can think of nothing that I have ever done for a career that gave me more satisfaction, or where I felt like I have contributed more to my fellow Americans than I did while wearing the uniform of my country.
To try to explain to people that have not been in the military why I feel as I do about soldiering is very difficult.  The readers that have been soldiers will understand immediately, expecially those that have been in combat.  I, and other soldiers that I have shared experiences with, try to describe the realization that we are facing a combat situation where there is an enemy doing his very best to kill us, and as we do, go through a multitude of emotions and reflective thoughts.  As I faced combat for the first time, I remember one of my first fears was not of death, but of letting down my pilot or the other airplanes that were in the mission with me and somehow causing them to be injured or killed.  Long before the night before my first mission, I had come to grips with the possibility that I might die.  I remember thinking about my good friend Jeff Harris, the pilot that I went through my F4 training with, who was killed the day I left for Vietnam, May 10, 1972.  My own mortality became very real to me that day.
I thought of Jeff, Major Whitt, another pilot I flew with in training that had been killed earlier, Andy, Scott, and others whose names have long since faded, but whose faces I still see, who died and who left behind families.  I remember praying for hours before that first mission, trying to, as the old saying goes, make my peace with God, and gaining the understand that, regardless of what happened, regardless of my skills and my pilot's skills, my time would be up when God decided that it was up and not one minute before or after.  There was a great peace that came over me when I realized that I no longer had to worry about how or when I was going to die, that God already had that worked out and that all I had to do was live my life as though my next breath could be my last.  I remember that feeling coming over me as though it was yesterday, and that since that moment, death had no more grip over me.  My prayers no longer were that I not die, but that when my time came, for God to be merciful and not make my death a painful ordeal for me or my family.
From that point on, I became focused on doing my job as well as I could, and trying to not let down my fellow soldiers.  Last night, I was vividly reminded of those feelings by those young Navy Seals as they prepared for their mission on their last night at home before leaving for the mission.  Their commitment was resolute, to the mission, and to their fellow soldiers.  Each of them knew the risks they were taking; each of them knew there was an almost certainty that many lives would be lost on their mission, that they would be the cause of much of that loss of life, that the combat would be intense, the risks extremely high, and there was a very high probability that someone on their team would be seriously injured or possibly killed.  Yet, even though the  they well understood everything that was involved, none hesitated, none backed out, and as a unit, they went forth to accomplish their mission.
In the movie the leader of the Seal team wrote a poem that, in the event of his death, would be given to his wife for his yet unborn son.  It was a poem written by the great indian chief Tecumseh, that really could be used as a creed for any soldier.  It reads like this:

So live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about their religion;respect others in their view, and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life, beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and its purpose in the service of your people. Prepare a noble death song for the day when you go over the great divide.

Always give a word or a sign of salute when meeting or passing a friend, even a stranger, when in a lonely place. Show respect to all people and grovel to none.

When you arise in the morning give thanks for the food and for the joy of living. If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies only in yourself. Abuse no one and no thing, for abuse turns the wise ones to fools and robs the spirit of its vision.

When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

Probably no-one but someone that has come to grips with their own mortality will understand and appreciate the wisdom of those words.  For me, they awoke the memories and thoughts of my military experiences in a real and very personal way.  As I looked into the faces of those men on the screen, I did not see actors; I saw my fellow soldiers, men who were not playing a part, but were demonstrating to the world the acts of selfless, dedicated patriots; people who knew that unless there were those willing tlay down their lives to defeat the evil in this world, that evil would soon dominate all freedom loving, good people in this world.  As the old saying goes, "All that is necessary for evil to succeed is for good people to do nothing."  I believe that to the bottom of my soul.
Five Star General Douglas MacArthur, in his last speech at West Point Military Academy, his alma-mater, gave probably the most inspiring speech I have every heard.  It was entitled "Duty, Honor, Country".Never have I heard a more eloquent description of what a soldier was, is, and should be that was delived in this speech.  Please check it out at the link below.  General MacArthur's last Speech at West Point
In my life, I would add one more descriptive word to that speech, and I would call it "God, Duty, Honor, Country", for without God's amazing grace, mercy, and love, I would never have found the peace that I found in the face of combat.
After the movie, I could not rest, I was filled with rememberances, both of unmatched exhileration and abject terror, that I experienced in the military, I was reminded of the realities of death, and in those thoughts and in the words of the Tecumseh poem, the responsibilities of life.  I was reminded that at the end of our lives, what is important is not how much money we made, what all we accomplished in our lives, but the impact that we had on those who we came into contact with, or whose life we had some impact on.  I was reminded that more than likely, we will be remembered or not remembered because of the good that we did or did not do for others.
It also came to my mind that in America today, if we were to go around and ask most of America's youth today what was the most important thing in their lives, more than likely it would be something material or superficial.  It is very telling that some of the most popular television shows on today involve young people that are rude, crude, vulgar, immoral, and arrogant.  Television and movies enshrine stars that glorify homosexuality, pregnancy out of wedlock, great physical bodies and physical beauty, and the acquisition of stardom regardless of what they must do to attain it.  At the movies last night, virtually every preview of upcoming movies dealt with prostitution, the occult, supernatural evil villans and heroes, zombies, or promicuous women taking off their clothes. It is all about me, me, me.  The media has made decency, morality, fidelity, faith in God, and honor the objects of ridicule and mockery today, and instead it glorifies all that is evil, immoral, disgusting, and sinful.
But there was none of that in "Act of Valor".  These soldiers loved their wives, were faithful to them, loved their children, taught them honor and courage and fidelity to family and their fellow soldiers, and gave us the picture of familes who supported their dedication to mission, feared for their loved ones, but understood the importance of what they were doing and supported them, even in death.
We as Americans have lost much of what makes these soldiers great, and what has made America great for over two hundred thirty years.  We have lost the heart of a servant, and replaced it with a lust for power, fame, and fortune.  We have replace "God, Duty, Honor, Country", with "The Ends Justify the Means".  Nothing could be further from the truth.  America needs a return to the values of our founders and national heroes.  We need to return to our nation's founders of America; a nation of free people, unencumbered by an oppressive central government, but united under the values of a great nation, the values that have kept us free and prosperous since we declared our independence from the oppressive government of Great Britain so many years ago.  "God, Duty, Honor, Country".  A code of conduct that every American should embrace, enshrine in their hearts, and learn to live by so that American can once again become that shining light on the hill that God has so richly blessed up until now.

Was Rush wrong? What about Bill Maher? What about President Obama and liberals? YES to all the above!

Rush Limbaugh has been the most vocal and effective voice for the conservative movement for years. But, like many who get great and assume they got their all on their own, and that they do not need any help staying there, El Rush-bo got a little too big for his britches, and is, as we say down south, "gettin' his comeuppance."
I will take nothing away from Rush being where he is in the world of talk radio; he has been the "king" for years, with an audience being self-stated at roughly twenty million!  However, if one takes into the account that those numbers are calculated using multipliers if someone listens to rush for all three hours, then the actual numbers of listeners at any one time is around 350,000 to 600,000.  Still a tremendous audience for a radio talk show by any stretch of the imagination, but far less than twenty million.
But Rush has fallen into that stereotypical celebrity image, e.g., believing all the hype and niceties thrown at him by people constantly sucking up to him, and ignoring those who warn him that his rhetoric is becoming too flamboyant and too vicious at times.  Rush has grown egotistical, arrogant, and in his own mind, invincible.
But alas, along came a young lady who decided that it was the taxpayer's duty to provide her birth control so she could sleep with upwards of a hundred different men without getting pregnant.  Sandra Fluke has the audacity to go before Congress and testify that it costs her nearly $3000 to pay for "contraceptive methods" a year, and that was too much for a college student to pay, so therefore Congress should pay for her birth control pills and give them to her free.
We will discuss the lunacy of her position later, however Rush took this and just crucified this young lady on the airwaves, calling her a "slut", a "prostitute", and made the analogy to her sexual promiscuity sound like Ms. Fluke had the boys lined up around the block waiting for their chance and time to have sex with the young lady.
Stupid!  Those type of comments are just plain STUPID...S-T-U-P-I-D!  Rush, when are you going to learn to keep your big mouth shut?  You had the world on a platter.  This girl did herself enough harm without coming across as the world's biggest chauvinist, the world's most arrogant and nastiest radio talk-show host.  If you has just taken a few minutes to think about what you were going to say, you could have been just as effective, and still maintained your sponsors and audience.
OK, let's just go ahead and get this out of the way.  That a young woman going to Georgetown Law School would get on national television in front of congress and tell people that it costs her $3000 to get her contraceptives while at Georgetown Law School, and that is a real financial hardship on her?
According to Georgetown Law School's website, the per semester costs to attend that very prestigious institution are approximately $31,680.  If a student attends two semesters a year, plus the summer program, annual costs to attend are approximately $70,000.
The average starting salary for a Georgetown Law School Graduate is $161,000.  Are we really supposed to believe that anyone that can afford to go to Georgetown Law School needs $3000 a year for contraceptive service?  Second, assuming she graduates, do we really think that she is going to be so poor that she cannot afford to pay back her student loans, including the costs of contraception?
Finally, I am wondering where she gets this $1000 per year costs?  According to the internet, the average costs of a monthly pack of birth control pills is $20 to $50 per month for someone with no medical prescription coverage.  Average that out to $35 per month, and the annual costs are $420.00.  So...I guess Mrs. Fluke requires some type of super-effective birth control that would costs SEVEN TIMES the average pack of birth control pills?  Or, one might assume that instead of birth control pills, she provides her partner a condom?  A male condom's cost for a name brand are approximately $.75 per condom, according to the Internet.  If she is using a female condom, then the average costs are $3 per condom per the internet.  Since we do not know which she might use, we would therefore take the average cost of each, and assume that if she provides the male condom, then she is having sex approximately 1,333 times per year, or if she is using the female version, that she is having sex approximately 333 times per year.  In either case, it certainly makes one wonder how she manages to work in enough time to do her studying at Georgetown.

Again, one cannot assume anything, but one would certainly be justified in questioning where she would come up with what she says are her annual costs for birth control.  But, again pursuing the more pressing ethical question at hand, is it really the Congress's belief that it is the duty of the U.S. taxpayer to pay for free contraceptive services to women (and, I would assume, if demanded, to a male)?  In this writer's humble opinion, only someone who believes that the average American taxpayer could care less about the Constitution of the United States and its provision to prevent the U.S. Government from interfering with the free practice of an individual's religious beliefs would expect anyone who thinks abortion, or even contraception are sins to be willing to pay for a service like that.  I personally think abortion is a sin and is the intention, premeditated murder (1st degree) of another, defenseless human being, and I am strongly against it.  I think contraception, on the other hand, is the prevention of becoming pregnant, and that is a decision between the two partners as to whether the prevention of pregnancy is desirable or not.
Not under ANY circumstances, however, do I believe that any citizen should be forced to pay for either of those procedures against their will if it violates their religious convictions, and that is exactly what President Obama is trying to do.  He is wrong, and anyone who thinks he is not certainly has no concept of what the founders of this great nation intended when they wrote the Constitution
Now, back to Rush!  Do I agree basically with his premise that Sandra Fluke was a phony, planted witness that the Democrats in Congress brought in to testify in favor of their efforts to enforce this dastardly provision of the Affordable Health Care Plan, a.k.a. "Obamacare"?  Absolutely.  She is a thirty year old political activist that previously worked for Anita Long, a known liberal, woman's right advocate.  She is not your average female law student.  She worked for years in some very worthwhile projects before returning to Georgetown Law School to pursue her degree.
Do I think Rush was correct in calling her a slut or a prostitute?  No, I do not.  Rush is known for his flamboyant ranting on innumerable topics, and the target of most of his ranting are liberal politicians.  He crossed the line when he used those terms and attacked Ms. Fluke.
Do I agree with the way the liberal press and liberal politicians have called for his being banned from radio airwaves, or that his sponsors be boycotted if they continue to sponsor him?  Absolutely NOT!  Liberals are the world's biggest and most blatant hypocrits.  Do they decry the attacks by Bill Maher when he uses even more vulgar terms against Sarah Palin or Michele Bachmann( Maher uses vulgarity to describe Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann)?  No.  Does President Obama call Sandra Fluke and ask if she is OK after Rush's comments?  Yes!  Does he say anything about Bill Maher's comments towards Sarah Palin or Michele Bachman?  No.
The Democrats/liberals are nothing but foul-mouthed hypocrites.  They scream foul, then go after the heads of anyone that is politically incorrect, then if someone tries to turn the attention to their hypocrisy, they shut up and coerce the liberal media into hushing up or candy-coating anything that makes them look bad.  What a gutless, cowardly, bunch of lying hacks.  They want Rush's head because he attacked a liberal.  They want Bill Maher to get a great humanitarian award or something because he slanders a Republican politician.
Frankly, what Rush is getting, much of it is deserved.  But not all is deserved because of what he said about Ms. Fluke.  Yes, I believe that he should lose sponsors.  Yes, I believe he is an arrogant bigmouth.  But the reason I believe he should lose sponsors is because he was vulgar and mean, and I do not think that has a place in the public airways.  Do I believe that Bill Maher should be banned from the airways and lose sponsors?  Absolutely, because he is a sorry, no-talent hack that could not make his living if he could not use such vulgarity in his speech.  He's a no-talent bum, and Rush is a talented, arrogant, loud-mouth bigmouth that just got too big for his britches, and got his butt spanked, justifiably.
People like Rush are good not so much because of what they know, but because of what they pay people to find out for them, then they use that found knowledge on the air.  Bill Maher is just not good...period.  No amount of paid help could make him look intelligent; only more vulgar, and he really does not need any help in that department.  He is very good at making himself look like an ignorant, no-talent thug.
